LEONARDO "LEO" MARTINO

Leonardo “Leo” Martino, age 91 of Medina, passed away on October 29, 2024.

Leo was born on September 2, 1933, in Cosenza, Italy to Francesco and Erminia (Coscarelli) Martino. He worked as a barber from the age of 15. He barbered in Italy, Canada, Michigan, and Florida. He was a member of the Italian American Cultural Club in Michigan, the Knights of Columbus, the 300 Club, and the Michigan and Florida American Barber Associations. Leo was nationally awarded for his trade. Leo enjoyed bowling and gardening. He served as an usher at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. He attended the Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn, Michigan while raising his family in Dearborn Heights.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Elvira Maida and Edrita Maida, and son, Franco Martino.

Leo will be deeply missed by his wife of 65 years, Caroline, daughters, Maryjo (Craig) Hecker and Emily (Frank) Pizzo, grandchildren, Marco (Carole Ann) Pizzo, Danielle (Allysen) Pizzo-Newman, Nicholas (Chelsea) Pizzo, Franchesca (Jesse) Brist, Karalina Kulis, Maxxim Kulis, great-grandchildren, Asher Brist, Taylor Brist, Theodore Pizzo, Wyatt Pizzo-Neuman, and Frankie Pizzo.

He will never be forgotten.
