Leora V. Moore, 90, of Freedom, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Maplewood Care Center in Streetsboro. She was born July 21, 1924 in Belington, West Virginia to Otis and Pearl (Price) Shahan.
Leora was a homemaker and a member of the Crossroads Community Church Family, the Christian Missionary Alliance, and a life member of The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was a resident of Dellslow, West Virginia until moving to Portage County in 1959. Leora was an avid seamstress and enjoyed spending time with beloved family and friends.
She is survived by her son, C. James (Patti) Moore of Windham; daughter, Sharon Huntsman of Kent; brother, Donald (Mary) of WV; sisters, Evelyn Phylliere of MI, Hilda Ralston of WV,; grandchildren, Sheila, Randy and Scott Moore, Michelle Hall, Mike Houghton, Mike Spade and Tonya Mullenax; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Leora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd Moore who passed away in 1972; a daughter, Lenette; and brothers, Otis Jr. and Robert; a sister, Shirley; and granddaughter, Johnee Lea Miller.
Calling hours are 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday December 11, 2014 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Funeral Services are Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Garrettsville, OH.
