MARIE FRANCES SMETANKO

Marie Frances Smetanko, age 84 of Medina, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born on March 26, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph and Elizabeth (Rikowski) Basen. She was the youngest of thirteen siblings.

Marie enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, card games and her companion dogs and cats. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Denise (Randy) Mast, Connie (Tony) King; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Adkins, Sarah Gulliford, Erica Gennaro (Niles Kuronen), Dominic Gennaro; great- grandchildren, Olivia and Mason Adkins; also many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph and all twelve of her siblings.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2 to 4 PM and on Monday, May 2nd from 10 to 11 AM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx & Rt. 18), Medina, Ohio 44256. Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM also at the funeral home followed by a Luncheon. Fr. Tom Kowatch officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brookpark Road, Cleveland.
