Marietta B. Brown, 97, of Windham, OH, went home to her Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 1, 2024. She was born June 2, 1927, in Rosemont, WV, to the late William and Nettie (nee Reed) Duvall.
She was proud member of the Windham United Methodist Church for many years, and her faith was unparalleled. Marietta also was a 25+ years volunteer for the Salvation Army; she even was blessed with an award as the “Volunteer of the Year”. Marietta’s family were her world, and that includes the friends she picked up as family along the way.
Marietta will be deeply missed by her daughters, Cheryl (Patrick) Mulhern and Tina (Michael) Spellman; grandchildren, Brenda (Gregg) Isler, Walter (Eileen) Lininger, Robert (Angela) Shenal, Jeffrey (Jane) Shenal, Ashley (Tim) Clark, Joshua Mulhern, and Emily Spellman; many great and great great grandchildren; brother, William Duvall; bonus grandchildren, Eric, Emily, Paul, and Greg Selner, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Brown, I; children, Charles Brown, II, Judy (Walter) Lininger, Michael Brown, and Diane Shenal, as well her siblings, Homer Duvall, Betty Cavallo, and Kib Duvall.
Please join the family for a visitation Friday, October 4, 2024, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. A funeral service will be at the Windham United Methodist Church, 9051 N. Main St, Windham, OH 44288, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Marietta will then be taken to Windham Township Cemetery, where she will be lovingly laid to rest with her beloved, Charles.
Marietta’s family would like to thank the small but mighty community of Windham. The village was an important part of the family’s life, and the care that was given to her by members of the community will never be forgotten. The family would like to encourage those who want to honor Marietta, in lieu of sending flowers, to graciously donate to the Windham United Methodist Church Building Fund, 9051 N. Main St, Windham, OH 44288, or the Windham Volunteer Fire Dept., 9601 E. Center St, Windham, OH 44288, in her name.
