MARION W. MCCLOUD

Marion Veronica Walker McCloud, (nee Walker), age 101 of Brunswick, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.

She was born on Feb. 24, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Samuel and Anna Catherine Walker. Marion graduated from John Hay Senior High and Western Reserve School of Business.

She was employed at Board of Elections and County Administration in Cuyahoga County and was employed part time with Medina County, assisting with the Senior Lunches at the Brunswick Recreation Center. Marion was very active with the Precinct Committee in Cleveland for many years, was also a member of AARP Senior Representative, Brunswick Recreational Center Senior Coordinator, Volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Condominium Board Member, Member of the Western Reserve Office of Older Adults, active with the Tri-County Seniors and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Parish.

She will be dearly missed by her loving daughter, Donna Burns; cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, Charisse, Charika and Chavez, nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by her first husband, Alonzo Robert Walker, her second husband, Louis McCloud; her daughter, Lillian Walker; and her sister, Thelma Walker-Brodie.

The family will receive friends for Marion on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick (1/2 mile south of Route 303). Masks are required and social distancing rules will apply. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick, with visitation 9:00 am until time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Valley City.
