Mark J. Slattery, 55 of Medina, previously of Brunswick, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born April 20, 1954 in Cleveland to John “Jack” and Joan (nee Norton) Slattery and was a bartender at the Buckeye Lounge for over 30 years.
He was a Brunswick High Graduate and attended Akron University for two years. He was a serious student of military history, loved his Tribe, and enjoyed golf. He enjoyed life and will be missed by all those who knew him. He was so much to so many. Mark had a listening personality, enjoying his patrons lives, their dreams, and their aspirations.
Mark is survived by his son Joseph Michael Slattery of Medina; siblings Neal (Angelita) Slattery of Kingsville, Texas, John Slattery of Cleveland, Sister Mary Slattery, H.M. of Cleveland, and Joan (Michael) Walden of Carmel, Indiana; nieces and nephews John (Jessica) Slattery, Sarah Vivian, and Nathan, Cecelia, Isaac, and Samuel Walden; great-uncle of Kya, Sabrina, Ginnifer, and John; and special friends Olga Dobbins and Patty, Don, and Brett Wcislo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Ambrose Church, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memory Gardens.
