Mary M. Beechy 1940 – 2011 Mary M. Beechy, 71, of Southington, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at her home, surrounded by her family, following an extensive illness. She was born January 19, 1940 in Geauga County, the daughter of William Edward Reynolds and Anna Arlene Payne Reynolds of Middlefield.
Mary was raised in the Middlefield/Parkman area and attended Middlefield Cardinal High School, “Class of 1958.” She excelled in many high school activities including varsity cheerleading and choir. Mary was a gifted vocalist and competed in many talent shows as well as appearing on television in Cleveland. After high school, she attended college and then returned to Geauga County to work for Geauga Industries. In 1960 she met local businessman, Myron K. Beechy, formerly of Sugarcreek, Ohio, and their courtship began. They married in October of 1961 and began their long storied life together. Mary was not only the perfect companion and wife for Myron and she was essential in building Forest Oaks Golf Club. She was active in the local schools and past president and member of the school board. Mary was a member of Parkman Congregational Church, the Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary is survived by her husband, Myron Beechy; three children, Marc Beechy (fiancee’ Charlene Monsanty), Margo Beechy Argenziano ,and Mickey Beechy, all of Southington. Mary cherished her grandchildren: Stevie Argenziano, Amber Beechy, Logan Beechy and Trenton Beechy, all of Southington. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen “Pat” Miller of Mantua, many nieces and nephews, and her guard dog, “Pepper.”
Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie, Jack, and Bob Reynolds.
Calling hours will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday and 9-10 A.M. on Saturday at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Her funeral will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10 A.M. at the funeral home. Pastor Rod Edwards of the Parkman Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will take place at the Graham Cemetery in Southington.

The Beechy family would like to thank Celtic Hospice and their wonderful, attentive staff, her special care givers, Cheryl, her nurse, and Kim, her loyal assistant. They would also like to thank the Southington Volunteer Fire Dept., Champion Fire Dept., and Warren Twp. Fire Department for all of their help throughout the years of her illness. These people all are very special people.
