MARY "JEAN" ZORN

Mary "Jean" Zorn, 79, of Wadsworth, formerly of Hinckley, Ohio, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. She was born February 27, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Russell and Pearl (Ready) Smith.

She was elected to the Highland Board of Education in 1980 and served until 1986. Jean was the ponytail director of the Recreation Association of Hinckley, and served as the Director of Soccer. She enjoyed helping on various political campaigns and learning about her family history.

Jean will be deeply missed by her daughters, Dawn (Kent Houston) Zorn and Tracy (Brian) Smith; grandchildren, Alex Butsch, Nicole Butsch, Jacob Mendenhall, Daniel (Emily) Mendenhall, Madison Smith, Savannah Smith, and Carson Smith; sisters, Jane (Ken) Workowski and Donna (John) Papp, and many nephews, nieces, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Laurie Mendenhall; brothers, Donald (Agnes) Smith and Russell Smith, and sisters, Elizabeth Ann Smith and Marlene (William) Schrantz.

Please join the family for a visitation on Sunday, July 16, 2023, 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M., at Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256 (Corner of Route 18 and River Styx). A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. Jean will then be taken to Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, where she will be lovingly laid to rest.
