She taught in the Northwestern School District, Phoenix School system, Foxville, Maryland School District and substituted in Northfield, Ohio. Mavis was a wonderful cook! She also may have been the Northeastern Ohio most knowledgeable female sports fan. Not only did she know the coaches and players for baseball and basketball (both pro and college) but also all of the mascots! Mavis was very active at her church. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sharon Center for 41 years. She served on the church council and was the check writer for many years. Her special love was singing in the choir.
