MICHAEL FORTUNE

Michael C. Fortune, age 75, of Westfield Township, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022. He was born on November 21, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio to Clement and Margaret (nee Barrett) Fortune.

He loved to long range shoot, garden, and work with stained glass. Michael was a retired Pipefitter with Local 120. He enjoyed watching the family of racoons that had taken up residence on his property. He was an avid life member of the NRA and a gun safety instructor. He also belonged to the Zeppelin Rifle Club, Alliance Rifle Club, and the Chippewa Rifle Club. He was also an integral part of the construction of a rifle range named after him, The Fortune Range located in Malvern, Ohio. He was a proud Marine and one of his proudest moments was watching his Grandson, Craige Stone, graduate from boot camp in Parris Island, SC in 2003.

He will be dearly missed by Carol, his loving wife of 25 years; children Tami Stone, Ray Alan Fortune, Thomas Lee Heishman, and Matthew Heishman; siblings Pat Fortune-Smith. Michael was a loving grandfather of 6, and a great-grandfather of 6, beloved uncle to many.

Michael was preceded in death by his beloved son, Randy M. Fortune, parents Clement and Margaret Fortune, brother Thomas J. Fortune and sisters Sharon Frantz, and Karen Nelson.

Friends may join the family for visitation for Michael on from Monday October 31, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Rt. 18 & Riverstyx) in Medina, Ohio. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00. Interment will follow at Friendsville Cemetery in Westfield Township, Ohio.
