Michael John Kudla, age 34, of Columbus, passed away suddenly on July 15, 2018. He was born on March 8, 1984 in Cleveland, OH to Paul and Mary Fran (nee Nowak) Kudla.
Mike was a proud 2002 graduate of Highland High School, an honor student, and four-year letter winner. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University and a member of the 2002 National Championship team under Jim Tressel. He was a 2 time Big Ten Champion, First Team All-Big Ten, and 2005 Team Defensive MVP. He retired from the NFL in 2007.
He was Owner and CEO of Coreplex Enterprises, a real estate developer of medical and other facilities. Formerly, the Managing Director of Development for the Fisher College of Business.
Mike enjoyed music, food, and movies. He particularly enjoyed lifting weights, making people laugh, and watching sports. Mike especially enjoyed his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by the long-time love of his life Jaclyn DiPerna; parents, Paul and Mary Fran; brothers, Brian (Lisa) and Eric; sisters, Katie Droes (David) and Emily Olee (Christopher); nieces and nephews, Abby, Jocelyn, Paige, Leah, Grant, Zak, Matthew, and Connor.
Mike was preceded in death by brothers Mark and Matthew.
He will be dearly missed by Jaclyn, his parents, family, friends, and fans.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 12-8 PM at Highland High School, 4150 Ridge Road, Medina, Ohio 44256. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church at 11:00AM at 1800 Station Road, Valley City, Ohio 44280. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256.
