MICHELE DISTAULO

Michele “Mike” DiStaulo, age 87, of Medina, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was born on November 2, 1930 in Montorio nei Frentani, Italy, to the late Celestino and Rose (nee Ciccone) Distaulo.

Mike immigrated to the US in 1950. While he had an Italian heart, he loved this country and was proud to be American. Mike liked to garden, but his first passion was cooking, and he was good at it. Mike hosted the family each Christmas with the Feast of Seven Fishes. Mike showed up with Italian Wedding Soup at many friends’ doors. He would swell with pride at every compliment. Mike enjoyed cruising and traveling to different states. He always told everyone that his two great grandchildren kept him alive and moving these last six years.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 23 years, Freida; children, Mark (Patty), Michael (Terri), Mario (Diana), Marietta Wallace, Renee (Bill) McMahon, Ron Terrell, Michael (Nicole) Terrell; brother, Antonio (Aida); grandchildren, Mark Jo (Katherine), Michael, Mary, Justin, Jessica (Jason), Nicholas, Caelum, Cambren, Caegen, C4 (on the way); great grandchildren, Isabella and Junior.

Mike was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his four children, Mary Jane (nee Grano); and three siblings.

Friends may join the family for visitation on, Saturday, May 26 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256. A Funeral Service will be held for Mike on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield, OH.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made in Michele’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Chapter, 70 W Streetsboro St Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236, and/or the American Diabetes Association, 4500 Rockside Rd, Independence, OH 44131.
