Milford D. Hagans, 76, of Windham, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his residence. He was born January 11, 1938 on Jack’s Creek Rd., in Lewistown, Pennsylvania to Charles R. and Rachael L. Everhart Hagans.
Milford was a high school and police academy graduate. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and liked his cars. He devoted 30 years to law enforcement, five of which were spent as Police Chief of Windham, Ohio. Milford worked for various Portage County law enforcement agencies, the Portage County Sheriff’s Dept. as well as Garrettsville, Hiram and Windham Police Departments where he retired as chief.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Hagans of Newton Falls and Richard Hagans of Windham and step-sons, Bobby Molnar of Garrettsville and Steven Molnar of N.C.; grandchildren, Shaunna (Scott) Senn, Tiffani (Ray) Smith, Travis, Aaron & Tyler Hagans; great-grandchildren, Madalynne, Landon, Zander, and Mackenzie.
Milford was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Norman; and sisters, Lula, Vera and Estalene; and Deanna his former spouse and best friend.
Calling hours are 5-8 PM on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 and Friday, Dec. 5, 2014 from 10-11 AM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Esta Everhart officiating. Burial will follow at Windham Township Cemetery.
