NANCY KASELAK DEL VECCHIO

April 13, 1949 — November 29, 2024

Medina

Small but mighty, known for her cookies, her sense of humor, and—most of all—her great love for family and friends, Nancy Kaselak Del Vecchio passed away on Friday, November 29 after a short illness. She was 75.

Nancy grew up in Euclid, Ohio with her mother and father, Helen and Steve Kaselak, and her sister, Donna, and brother, Steve.

She became a talented baker, honing a variety of delicious cookies as founder of a Contessa Pollina Pasticceria cookies, a business she established after leaving a career in advertising and marketing promotions.

In 1994, Nancy married Bruno Del Vecchio. The two were inseparable, whether they were venturing to Las Vegas, making their grandchildren laugh, or organizing large family vacations that will forever be remembered by everyone who was lucky enough to join one. In 2018, Nancy and Bruno began to divide their time between Ohio and Naples, Florida.

Nancy had a very close and loving relationship with her two daughters, who, along with Bruno, were at her side when she passed away.

Nothing gave Nancy greater pleasure than her grandchildren, on whom she doted and who lovingly called her Grancy (Grandmother + Nancy), a nickname by which many came to know her.

She is survived by her husband, Bruno; sister, Donna Kaselak Lang (James Lang, deceased); brother, Steve Kaselak (Mark Bellew); daughters, Marla Redinger (James Miller) and Mandy Rich (Brad Rich); stepdaughter, Jessica Del Vecchio (Chris Williams); stepson, Danny Del Vecchio (Grace Del Vecchio); and grandchildren, Justine and Patrick Redinger, Tate Rich, and Scarlet, Joey, Betty, and William Del Vecchio. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Steve Kaselak and Helen Lanza Kaselak.

A true dynamo who made the world a better—and funnier—place, Nancy will be missed acutely by the many, many people who loved her.

While someone’s personality may not always come through in an obituary, thoughts and posts shared during Nancy’s illness and passing by people whose lives she touched show how family and friends saw and remember her:

“Lightning quick wit. Uniquely creative. Larger-than-life personality. Drawn to her spirituality. A wonderful soul. Always excited to talk about her special cookies, her family and grandchildren. Will truly miss her almost daily posts, cartoons, and political humor. Truly loved our country, a proud patriot. Most gracious and generous. Always ready to be silly and have fun, as her grandchildren referred to her as kooky Grancy. The master cookie maker, who loved sharing her creations with neighbors, friends and family. Teaching the art of cookie making to each grandchild provided Nancy enormous pleasure. She always kept small, wrapped bags of cookies to put a smile on the faces of neighbor children. Spunky, a firecracker with a sweet smile. A beautiful woman. Fun to be with, a little dynamo. Her sense of humor and energy always lifted my spirit. A happy spirit.”

Nancy stated in her last days that she will always love each of us and will be looking over her family. She wanted her grandchildren to individually know that she will always be there for them and will be watching over them.

She loved sharing photos from vacations, especially her “Where’s Nancy” photos where she was hiding behind or under statues, animals, or landscapes. No more “Where’s Nancy” posts. We all now know where Nancy is forever.
