Nancy Baird Murrin (nee Harder), age 81, of Barberton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on March 16, 2018, in Medina OH. She was born on April 9, 1936 in Charleston, WV, to the late Robert and Aileen (nee Ashley) Harder.
Nancy graduated from Charleston High School 1955 and then attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA., before meeting her husband John. Together they successfully raised 3 children, moving between WV, Louisiana, and Texas, while employed with Union Carbide Corporation. Nancy was a warm gregarious friend to many. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She invested mostly in either family or the church. She was known for overindulging in any shade of blue when decorating, dressing or gifting.
Nancy will be remembered most fondly for her warm, giving, sweet, kind and compassionate spirit, and her desire to find the very best in every person she met. She lived simply and received the most satisfaction from staying connected to her children's lives. Nancy was also keenly interested in news and developments in her community and around the world. She read many sources of news and information and could always hold a conversation about contemporary events.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter Elizabeth Murrin Barnes of Anchorage, AK and son Jeffrey B. (Cheryl) Murrin of Medina, OH; granddaughters Sarah and Emily Murrin; former husband John B. Murrin of Medina; sister Joanne (Ben) Brown of Paso Robles CA; brother Clark (Barbara) Harder of Wimauma, FL; and many nieces and nephews and personal close friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son John Ashley Murrin.
Friends may join the family for visitation Thursday, March 22, at 11AM, with service to follow at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256. A graveside service and interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina, OH.
