OPAL S. ADKINS

Opal S. Adkins (née Brown), age 88, of Medina, passed away on March 13, 2020. She was born on June 21, 1931, in Removal, WV, to the late Elias and Rebecca (née McCord) Brown.

Opal enjoyed playing the guitar, quilting, and church activities. She was loving, kind, and always smiling. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Opal believed that salvation comes through belief and trust in Christ alone and to always show love, compassion, and help others. She loves each and every one of you.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Garland; children, Donna Fonner, Glenn (Coralou) Schrader; grandchildren, Rebecca Spencer, Benjamin Schrader, Michelle Fonner; and sister, Edith Moats.

Opal was preceded in death by her son, Michael Schrader; granddaughter, Patricia Fonner; siblings, Ella Smith, Bessie Higgins, Lucy Williams, Osie Moats, Melinda Hall, Charles Brown, Isaac Brown, Clarence Brown, Fred Brown; and her first husband, Thomas Schrader.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of Route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212. A Funeral Service will be held for Opal on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Neal Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Valley City, OH.
