PATRICIA ANN ANTOS

June 5, 1948 — October 7, 2022

Patricia A. Antos (nee Freund), age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 7, 2022.

Our mom was humble, kind and devoted to Christ. She always was willing to help a person in need. She lived life to the fullest with the simplest pleasures, a deep conversation with family and friends, attending church, being a good listener, giving words of wisdom, and her infectious laughter. One of the most important things in her life was her family, from quick five-minute phone calls which were never quick or spending the day with them. Our mom attended many churches in her life from Divinity Lutheran, Bethal Temple, Grace Church in Middleburg Heights. She also would attend church events with her friends, such as women's retreats, day bus trips, and masses at St. Ambrose church in Brunswick. She was devoted to her faith that started at childhood and carried it through her adulthood. Pat's favorite bible verse to recite was Psalm23.

She was the oldest of five siblings and she was proud of that. Pat loved her family holiday get togethers whether it was game night, breakfast, or talking about life and the Lord. She deeply loved spending time with her siblings. Pat was very proud of her nephews and nieces and would always look forward to them coming into town. Throughout her life she had many jobs working at the Plain Dealer, Nestle, delivering flowers, and Goodwill. However, the job she loved most was being a mother. Patricia was a single mother who worked tirelessly and endlessly to provide the best life for us. No matter how crazy life would get she always made sure to put us first.

Some of her favorite restaurants and take out spots were Gallucci's, Gibbs, Big Boys and Bob Evans. Which in turn made them some of our best lunch dates with mom and grandma that were filled with laughter, joy, and long-lasting memories. As a grandma she loved doing stuff with her grandchildren going to fireworks, getting ice cream, getting haircuts and styles, fashion advice, sharing her love of music, going to Mapleside concerts, dancing, laughing at jokes, doing projects, going for drives, asking about their sporting events, bringing them Bob Evens chicken noodles soup when they were sick, asking for help on how to use her cell phone, or just stopping over with food. Our mom enjoyed doing many things with her grandchildren. Every year she was guaranteed to have a birthday cake as she shared the same birthday with her granddaughter Emma.

As a single mom she worked so tirelessly to provide everything that she could. But what she didn't see is what she was teaching us, family values, love, kindness, faith, trust, laughter, responsibility, and a good work ethic. Our mom loved to go to night under fire with her son, going shopping, and getting lunch/dinner with her girls. She also enjoyed spending time with her son-in-law listening to his words of wisdom and admiring the way he took care of his family. Pat also enjoyed bonfires with her son and daughter in law and long talks in the living room while watching movies. We always said our mom was made of concrete, after a long hard battle with brain cancer our concrete lady went to heaven and now is our guardian angel. People always told mom how blessed she was because her children and grandchildren helped take care of her while she was battling cancer.

Our mom will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren, siblings, nephews, and nieces We would like to say Thank you to mom's lifelong friends Kathy Sadowski, Dale Sellers, and Kathy Johnston and to her many other friends and neighbors, for always being there for her in one way or another. Our mom was loved by many of our lifelong friends and that has helped us through this journey in one way or another. She loved you all as much as she loved all of us and enjoyed talking to you and your visits.

Thank you for being her nontaxable children Mike, Brian, Vanessa, Lauren, Chrissy, Shawnda, Misty, Danielle, Renelle, Shaynna, Alena, Pearl, Dave, Danny, Blake, Jacob, little Phil, and Scott. As a family we are now embarking on a new normal on how to live life without Pat we will find are way through this journey as she has giving us the tools on how to live but just know she will be deeply missed in many people's lives.

A loving mother to her children, Laura Schumann, Kirstie (Matt) Nichols, Amy Mahoney (dec), Marc (Jenn) Antos. Pat's pride and joy were her grandchildren, Caitlin (Johnathan) Tromler, Alexis Nichols, Hailey Nichols, Mattison Nichols, Gillian Mahoney, Emma Nichols, Elise Mahoney, and Harri Wunderle. Loving sister to Paula Jenkins (nee Freund), Terrence (Kathleen) Freund, Paul Jr. (Trudy) Freund, and Dave Freund. Loving aunt to Chris Jenkins, Adam Jenkins, Jason Freund, and Grace Freund. Great Aunt to Joshua, Caleb, Jonathan, and Sarah Jenkins.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Sr, and Mary (nee Johnson) Freund; daughter, Amy; Steven Keltz; and son-in-law, Joseph Mahoney.
