Patricia T. Fisher, 80, formerly of Garrettsville, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 27, 2022. She was born on June 20, 1942, in Cleveland, to the late George and Pauline (nee Kovacic) Wargo.
Raised in the Cleveland area, she married James Fisher in 1962. Over the years they welcomed their children Jim, Steve, and Laura, and eventually settled in Hiram. Pat and her husband were involved in their children's activities, as well as also being active members of St. Ambrose Parish. She worked while raising her children, and then took a leap of faith at the age of 40, and enrolled at Hiram College, where she proudly received her bachelor's degree in 1986. Pat then went on to receive a master's degree in counseling from Youngstown State University and worked in chemical dependency counseling at Robinson Memorial Hospital until her retirement. After her beloved husband passed away in 2002, she built a home in Garrettsville and poured herself into gardening, ministries at St. Ambrose, managing a charitable foundation, several book clubs, and other volunteer activities. Gardening was a passion, and her home was a beautiful place where her children, grandchildren, and friends came to admire her stunning gardens and landscaping. Due to the challenges of Parkinson's Disease, she moved to a memory care facility in Strongsville in 2021.
Pat will be deeply missed by her children, Jim (Carolyn) Fisher, Steve (Sarah) Fisher, and Laura Escalera; grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel, Hayle, Catherine, Wyatt, Anika and James; siblings, George (Cheryl) Wargo, Karen (Bill) Gray, Alan (Lori) Wargo, and Grace (Scott) Werner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Fisher, and son-in-law, Steve Escalera.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Parish, 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville, OH 44231, on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. Immediately following, Pat will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Jim, at Fairview Cemetery in Hiram. Care for Patricia was entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
