PATRICIA B. SHEPARD

April 17, 1932 — November 26, 2020

Patricia B. Shepard, 88, of Aurora, previously of Garrettsville, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020. She was born April 17, 1932, in Waukegan, Illinois to Robert and Lela (Kiser) Barnes.

Pat was a graduate of Kent State University School (High School) and Kent State University (B.S.). During college, Pat was a member of the Sharks Club, an Amateur Athletic Union organization that competed in synchronized swimming. Pat was also a member of the KSU marching band, and Chi Omega sorority.

Pat was a lover of pets, and enjoyed raising horses, dogs and cats on their Wheeler Road property in Garrettsville.

She was a longtime member of the Garrettsville United Methodist Church, where she participated in the choir and many church committees. She and her husband Lewis were instrumental in securing a new organ and lights for the church.

Pat was the Home Economics teacher at James A. Garfield High School for 28 years, and was "Mom" to her many students. She enjoyed being the advisor of the Home Ec Club.

Pat will be deeply missed by her loving children, Roger (Nancy) Shepard, and Douglas (Susie) Shepard; grandchildren Kristen (Terence) Schneider, Eric Shepard, Kimberly (Matt) Pleveich, Spencer Shepard and Selene Shepard; great grandchildren, Kane Schneider, Kaleb Schneider, Kameron Schneider, Kole Schneider, and Ellie Pleveich, and her sister Caroline (Robert) Chandler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lewis Shepard in 2002, and son Robert in 2009.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat's name would be graciously accepted by the Garrettsville United Methodist Church, Crossroads Hospice, or the Portage Animal Protective League.

Arrangements for Pat were entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 8382 Center St. Garrettsville, Ohio 44231.

Due to the pandemic, services for Pat will be planned for a later date.
