PAUL M. SHYMSKE

Paul M. “Shemp” Shymske, age 67, of Brunswick, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at his home surrounded by loving family and friends.

He was born on June 12, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Paul and LaVerne (nee Schaefer) Shymske. Paul graduated from Brunswick High School in 1971 where he served as the Jr. class president. He was employed for over 44 years as a Bricklayer, retiring in 2017. When asked about retirement he would always answer “If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend it”

Paul was an active member of the Bricklayers Local #5, Brunswick Eagles #3505, where he was a long-standing member in the “penalty box”. He was also a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Parish.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Norma (nee Riddell) Shymske; son, Paul S. (Marie) Shymske; daughter, Kimberly Shymske; cherished granddaughter, Bella Jean Shymske; dear brothers, Don (deceased), Randy (Sharon) Shymske; sister, Nancy (Bill) Stray; adopted family members, Anna and Aaron Blaine; cherished family, Carolyn Freitag, Sophie Kapuscinski (deceased) and Barb Riddell; God children, Christy Sonderman, Jennifer Novak Haessly and Aaron Shymske. Shemp has many loving cousins as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation for “Shemp” on Friday, from 2-4pm and 5-7pm. At Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick, (1/2 mile south of Route 303). We will encourage social distancing guidelines and ask guests to wear a masks and respect other’s boundaries. Please pay your respects to the family by kindly passing through and exiting. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St.Ambrose Catholic Parish, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick. (Meet at the Church) EVERYONE MUST WEAR A MASK.
