Paul “Abie” Starcher, 86, of Streetsboro, passed away on Thursday June 15, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born to Sheridan “Doc” and Edna (Fairbee) Starcher on July 22, 1929 in Freedom Township.
He loved to restore antique John Deere tractors, cars and motorcycles. He was a lifetime Streetsboro VFW #9716 and American Legion #685 member and was proud to have served in the US Army during the Korean War. Paul took pride in caring for his immaculate yard and cherished spending time with family and friends having picnics and pig roasts. He was a great neighbor and friend.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Maryanne, daughters Paula (Roger) Cooley of Shalersville and Pauletta Starcher; grandchildren Kaley Cooley & Benjamin Cooley both of Shalersville; brothers Lawrence Starcher of Boardman and Don Starcher of Florida; sisters Pauline Varga of Shalersville and Betty Quesenberry of Ravenna.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jake, Dorman and Howard Starcher.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday June 18th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 4:00 P.M. with full military honors.
