Paul L. Tharpe, age 64 of Medina, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Hospice of Medina County. He was born in New Castle, PA on January 7, 1952 to Harold and Rita
(nee Elliott) Tharpe. Paul and Laura (nee Blangero) were married in 1975. He was employed with United Airlines as a Pilot for over 30 years. He enjoyed flying.
Paul will be dearly missed by his wife; sons, Zach and Devin (Fiancée Angie); brother John, sister Kathy (Dan) Blatecky and brothers-in-law, Bill (Ellen), Mark and John Blangero also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jim; his in-laws, John and LaRue Blangero
also sister-in-law Marcia and nephew Eric Blatecky.
Family gathering for friends will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 10 AM to 12 PM with a Service to follow at 12 Noon at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx & Rt. 18), Medina, Ohio 44256. Burial to follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Medina Hospital, 1000 E. Washington St. Medina, Ohio 44256, Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Road, Medina, Ohio 44256 or Special Olympics Attn: Web Gifts, 1133 19th St. NW 12th floor, Washington, DC 20036-3604.
