PHYLLIS JULIET HARRISON

Phyllis Juliet Harrison, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2024 and joined her cherished husband, Jim.

She was born in Cleveland on December 23, 1928. She received her nursing degree at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, worked part-time at Medina General Hospital for over 25 years, and then part-time as a convention coordinator for 23 years retiring in 2019. 

Phyllis had so many friends whom she loved and who loved her dearly. Her priority in life was to serve others. She loved teaching Awana Cubbies for over 15 years. She treasured her time spent visiting her shut-in friends along with her “Joke Ministry” to encourage others through devotions and song with the Grace Baptist Church Support Group. A joyful highlight of her week was being with her dear friends in their gatherings filled with Christian fellowship which she insisted on continuing even as her health failed. 

Phyllis Harrison was an amazing mother who along with Jim filled their home with love and laughter. She was truly cherished by her family and is survived by her children: Kathleen Olson; Patricia Krueger-Harding (husband John); Jim Harrison (wife April), Carol Rusnacko (husband Andy); Renee Harrison (widow of son Danny Harrison); Scott Harrison; David Harrison (wife Lisa); as well as 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, Brother Kenneth Schanda and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim of 59 years; her son Danny; her brother Roy Schand and his wife Pat; and Millie Schanda (sister-in-law); Ted Olson (son-in-law) and Darrell Krueger (son-in-law).

Please join the family for a visitation on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 3477 Medina Road (corner of Route 18 & River Styx Rd) Medina, OH. 

Funeral Service will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 3480 Laurel Rd., Brunswick, OH on Friday, August 16, 2024. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM; Service at 11:00AM with Senior Pastor, Dr. Richard Powers Sr. and Exec. Pastor, Rev. Rick Powers Jr. officiating. Following the service, Rev. Andrew Rusnacko (son-in-law) will officiate graveside at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, 2869 Grafton Road Brunswick, OH.
