Phyllis A. Taylor (nee Bailey), age 73, passed away on February 14, 2014. She was born to Russell and Helen (nee Vest) Bailey on June 11, 1940 in Beckley, West Virginia.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling, gospel and country music; she was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Brunswick, Ohio and was a former member of the Oak Grove Christian Choir in Beckley, West Virginia. She was a very caring and hardworking person. She worked for Macy’s for 18 years, retiring from Southpark Mall location. Phyllis was a loving wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who loved spending time with her family.
She will be missed by her beloved husband of 31 years, Dennis; son, Raymond (Marsha) Swaggerty; step-children, Deanna, Stephen, and Kimberly; grandchildren, Katie, Heather, Christopher, Felicia, Marissa, Mariah, Breanna, Peyton, Haleigh, Nate, Katie, Zachary, Megan; great-grandchildren, Natalya and Adeyn; cousin, Geneva Lucas and many other cousins; sister-in-law, Carolyn Lowe and family; two nieces and her loving cat Taffy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Bernard Bailey.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM with a viewing one hour prior at 9:00 AM (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH), Grace Baptist Church, 3289 Laurel Road, Brunswick, Ohio 44212. Rev. Richard Powers will be officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, 2869 Grafton Road, Brunswick, Ohio 44212.
