Raymond E Hettinger was born on June 15, 1953, in Berea Ohio to his parents Marvin F. Hettinger and Maxine (Vadnais) Hettinger, and entered into the Lord’s presence on June 26, 2024, at age 71 after a battle with cancer.
His friends and family will dearly miss Raymond. Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family and cherished his lifelong friend, Steve Shurance. Raymond was an active part of His Hope church family, where he served leading and participating in a variety of ministries. He blessed many with his life by mentoring with Kids Hope, volunteering at the VA association, and leading a ministry for veterans at Hope Church.
Raymond proudly served his country in the Navy. Following the Navy, Raymond worked as a pipefitter. Raymond was a gifted mentor, leader, and writer. He earned his associate's degree in multi-disciplinary studies from Cuyahoga Community College from 1998-2000. Raymond also ministered with Youth for Christ in both the Akron, OH and Medina, OH areas. Raymond was a true man of faith in Christ.
He is survived by his siblings, Wesley (Karen) Hettinger, Kenneth (Lori) Hettinger, and Carmen Kincaid. Raymond also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Robert Hettinger, Marvin Hettinger, and Michael Hettinger, as well as his sisters: Maxine Stoler, Colleen Hettinger, Lavonne Hudson, and infant sister, Annette Hettinger
A memorial service will be held at Hope Church,1905 Pearl Rd, Brunswick, OH 44212 on July 25, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. The interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 1:15 p.m. with military honors.
