"Together Again" Raymond E. “Ray” Pingley, 85, of Nelson Twp., passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna. He was born November 14, 1925 in Junior, WV to the late Benjamin Franklin and Myrtle Mae (Cox) Pingley.
Ray was a U.S. Navy Veteran and worked in the shipping department at Rockwell. He was a member of Windham American Legion Post #674, and a member of Faith Evangelical Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. He also enjoyed coin collecting and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandy Uher of FL, Cathy (Robert) Lujan of Mantua and Lorrie (Jeff) Webb of Newton Falls; grandchildren Angie, Brandon, Kevin, and Lea; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Garrison, Tyler, and baby boy Kruz Allen on the way.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife Almeta who passed away in 2010, brothers Harry, Stub and Russell and sisters, Irene, Lillian, Marie and infant Levina.
Calling hours are 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Esta Everhart officiating. Burial will follow at Windham Twp. Cemetery with full military honors.
