Richard “Dick” Dolby, age 94, resident of Plum Creek Assisted Living in Brunswick, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016. He was born on July 24, 1922 in Elgin, Illinois to John and Harriett (nee Geister) Dolby.
Dick was an Army Veteran of WW II and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a Brunswick school bus driver and retired from General Motors as a tool and die maker. Dick was a member of the VFW, the Eagles, the AMVETS, the Brunswick United Methodist Church and he volunteered at the Medina Senior Center and served on the Brunswick School Board. Dick was truly a people person, an avid reader, and enjoyed the Lotto. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Pittsburg Steelers fan.
He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Donna (David) Smith, Debra (Andre) Guillemaud; grandchildren, Megan, Brian, Luke and Liana; his sister Jackie McKinley and his special friend, Lillian Wilson. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Elizabeth. His cremains will be placed at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery, Rittman/Seville at a later date. Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick, Ohio 44212 were entrusted with arrangements.
