RICHARD "RICK" ERIC HAMRICK
May 2, 1960 — June 22, 2018
Richard “Rick” Eric Hamrick, age 58, of Brunswick, was called home to God’s house on Friday, June 22, 2018, after a more than decade-long battle with cancer. He was born May 2, 1960, in Cleveland, to the late Elwood Herbert and Veda Mary (nee Fertig) Hamrick.
Rick was a Mt. Pleasant Church member and the Church historian, and a member of the Brunswick Eagles #3505. He enjoyed cooking for others with fatherly conversation. He was a terrific Indians, Browns and Packers fan. Rick had many gardening talents and enjoyed fixing anything into its second life. Our Jack-of-all-trades, go-to-guy was a loved man who loved back, and his absence will be felt by many.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 20 years, Carleen (nee Carlson); children, Allison, Kayla, Emily and Vaughn Hamrick; sisters, Sandra (Cliff) Taylor and Virginia Stevenson; brother-in-law, Casey Schoessow; grandchildren, Kindle and Alex; and loving Uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Schoessow.
Friends may join the family for Visitation on Friday, June 29, 2018, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of Route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212.
A Funeral Service will be held for Rick on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 12 Noon, with Visitation one hour prior to Services, at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hope Memorial Gardens, Hinckley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rick’s name to Mt. Pleasant Church, 2768 Laurel Road, Brunswick, OH 44212.
