Richard Konkus, age 82, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. He was born on June 19, 1939, in Baxter, West Virginia to the late George and Helen (nee Skirpan) Konkus. He lived most of his life in Cleveland, Ohio and many years in Arizona.
He was a member of the Laborers' International Union of North America 310 for 50 years. Richard was a talented painter. He enjoyed fishing, chess, horse races, dice, card games, and the lottery. Richard loved watching The Browns and Cleveland Indians, always taking the opportunity to cheer them on.
Richard will be deeply missed by his children, Darlene Rose (Timothy) Malone, Richard Dennis (Angelika) Konkus, Susan Theresa Christe, Sandra Lee (Mark) Havran, and Shari Marie Simonski; grandchildren, Chelsea Malone, TJ Malone, Lorraine Mahr, Doreen (David) Konkus, Lyle Konkus, William (Stacie) Christe, Ronald (Jessica) Christe, Angela (Casey) Colclough, Paula (Erik) Sullen, and Garret Simonski; great grandchildren, Zaria, Riley, Gabriella, Beyla, Brooke, Haylee, Hunter, Thomas James V, and Robert Lawrence II. Richard was also loved by Thomas Simonski, his friend and ex son-in-law.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Darlene Ann (nee Ruby); granddaughter, Tina; and great grandchildren, Saraya and Anthony.
Per Richard's request, all services are private. The Konkus family has entrusted Richard's care to Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Brunswick.
