Richard C. Rypinski, age 86, of Euclid, passed away Monday, May 30, 2023. He was born on April 11, 1937, to the late Joseph and Mary (nee Kolodziejczak) Rypinski in Cleveland.
A proud Cleveland Police Detective, Richard retired after servicing 29 ½ years on the force. He was a member of the CPPA and Polish American Police Association. Richard enjoyed remodeling homes, bowling, golfing, and Cleveland sports teams.
Richard will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Sherry; children, James Rypinski, Mary Rypinski, Edward (Kathy) Rypinski, Carol (Thomas) Thielman, Michael (Sue Mastrey) Rypinski; step-sons Matthew Leskiewicz (deceased), Nicholas (Kristy) Leskiewicz; grandchildren, Brianna, Evan, Andrew, Claire, John, Joseph, Matthew, Allyson, and Samuel; niece, Terese (James) Kilbane; nephews, Donald (Susan) Kenzig, Ronald (Anne) Kenzig, Richard Kenzig, and their children. He enjoyed a loving and special relationship with his cousins and many others.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Marie; and brother-in-law, Donald Kenzig.
Please join the family for visitation on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 12:00 until 1:00 at St. Robert & William Catholic Parish, 367 E. 260th St, Euclid, Ohio 44132. Mass will be at 1:00. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Rd, Chardon, Ohio 44024. The Rypinski family has entrusted Richard’s care to Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Brunswick.
