Rickey Eugene Norris, 65, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. He was born October 22, 1957, in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania to Alexander “Ken” Norris and Sara (Smith) Norris.
He attended James A. Garfield High School and was a part of the graduating class of 1975. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy. In April of 1980, Rick married the love of his life, Theresa. Rick faithfully served his country for 22 years in the Navy before retiring.
While in the Navy, Rick earned many awards for his service which included the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Accommodation, Navy/Marine Corp Overseas Service Ribbon Second Award, National Defense Metal, Battle “E” Award, 2nd, and the Navy Unit Accommodation Award. He then worked for Edwards Air Force Base in California for 14 years as a weapons technician where he earned multiple service awards. Rick’s passion in his life was spending time with his wonderful son, Joshua, and driving his sports cars.
Rick will be deeply missed by his loving son, Josh; mother, Sara Norris; siblings, Kenny (Mariann) Norris, Stacy (Mike) Colbert, and Lori (Rob) Maur, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Theresa, who passed in 2007 after 27 years of marriage; father, Ken Norris, and his brother, Steven Norris.
The family would like to invite friends for a visitation on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 12:00 P.M. Rick will then be laid to rest at Park Cemetery, 8588 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231, with military honors.
