Robert E. Cisney (72), of Hiram, passed away from cancer on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, while in hospice care in Euclid. He was born April 8, 1949, the second son of the late Alex and Vera (nee Chapman) Cisney.
Bob lived his whole life in the Garrettsville/Hiram/Braceville area. He graduated from James A. Garfield High School in 1967, where he lettered in wrestling; Bob went on to receive an associate's degree from United Electronics Institute in Cuyahoga Falls in 1969. He followed his father into the maintenance department at Hiram College, where he spent the bulk of his professional career as an electrician. Bob married Hope Stefko on September 25, 1971, and they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. He was a long-time active member of the Greater Akron Aquarium Society, which he lovingly called "The Fish Club". Bob enjoyed camping at Pymatuning State Park, fishing, and helping people, because Bob's real life's calling was to be a "Rescue Ranger" to anyone in need. He touched many people with his sense of humor, kindness, and his peaceful acceptance of everyone.
Bob will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Hope; son, Shawn (Shannon) Cisney, of Garrettsville; grandchildren, Jim and Kate; nephews, Rich Cisney and Gary Stefko; nieces Barb (Tony) King and Janis Nystrom.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard Cisney.
