ROBERT LEE MILLER

February 6, 1947 — April 3, 2014

Robert Lee Miller, 67 years old, of Freedom was born February 6, 1947 in Warren, Ohio to William Warren and Elizabeth Schwartz Miller. He went to be with the Lord after a battle with leukemia on April 2, 2014.

He proudly served in the US Army from 1966-1968 during the Vietnam War, and retired from Stouffer/Nestle Corp. where he worked for 32 years. He was an avid sports spectator, and could be seen at many local school basketball, football and baseball events sitting on the top row, front and center. He really missed the games this past winter with his buddies. He loved to run the trails of Portage County, ride his bike to town, walk the streets of town and mow his friends and neighbors ditches. Strong in his faith, he attend the Maplewood Christian Church until his sickness prohibited him from going. He loved and missed his church family and spoke highly of them.

Robert “Bob” is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Deborah (Cook) Miller; daughter, Mary (Dean); son, Shawn (Anne); granddaughter, Ryanne and grandson, Gregory; four brothers, five sisters and a whole lot of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville Ohio 44231. Funeral services will be at 11AM on Monday, April 7, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor John Hayduke officiating. Interment will follow the service at Drakesburg Cemetery in Freedom Township. A potluck gathering after the graveside service will be held at the Maplewood Christian Church 7300 State Route 88 Ravenna, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, please make donationt in his name to the American Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 5700 Brecksville Rd. 3rd. Floor, Independence, Ohio 44131.
