ROBERT SCHMIEL

Robert Schmiel, 89, of Garrettsville, passed away surrounded by his family on February 17, 2016 at his home. He was born August 21, 1926 in Cleveland Ohio to Robert and Martha (Bissler) Schmiel.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Trolleyville Association. Robert was a musician for many years. He especially enjoyed playing the string bass.
Robert is survived by his children, Karen (William) Criblez of Garrettsville, David (Juli) Schmiel of Wisconsin, Karl (Beth Ann) Schmiel of Garrettsville, James (Valerie) Schmiel of Moreland Hills, Paul Schmiel of New York, Annaliese (Earl) Delmarter of Georgia and Bethany Bulone of Boardman; son-in-law, Ron Lamire of Iowa; daughter-in-law, Katherine Schmiel; many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Nancy and his four brothers.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, 12 PM, at the funeral home with Pastor Schmiege officiating. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
