Robert T. Springer, age 77, of Brunswick, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. He was a loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Papa.
He was born on June 22, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Marvin and Florence (nee Shomon) Springer.
Robert served in the US Army as a SP4, earning several medals including a Purple Heart during the Vietnam War. He later was employed and retired from Cargill Salt, Inc.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW#9520.
Robert enjoyed hunting with his best friend, Larry Brewster (dec) and camping with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marilyn (nee Moore) Springer; loving daughters, Tammy Pelot (Ronnie) and Laura Osborne ; cherished grandchildren, Cassie, Jeremy (Lakin), Megan and Austin; 3 great grandchildren, Alexandria, Sienna and Averey; dear sister-in-law, Barbara Moore (Donald-dec); Godchidren, Larry C. Brewster and Danielle Rifici; dearest friend, Erna Brewster; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Springer.
The family will receive friends for visitation for Robert on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick (Corner of Rt 303 and Pearl Road). Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at Brunswick United Methodist Church, 1395 Pearl Road, Brunswick with Rev. Tom Shaw officiating. (Everyone must wear a mask). Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
