ROBERT D. WHITFORD

Robert D. Whitford, age 92, of Brunswick, passed away on October 2, 2017. He was born on September 6, 1925, in Cleveland, OH, to the late Paul A. and Dorothy (nee Luckhaupt) Whitford. He was married to Bette (nee Fischer) Whitford for over 50 years.

Robert was a Veteran of the United States Navy, served in World War II and fought in the Normandy Invasion. He was a member of the Litchfield Masonic Lodge #381, the Brunswick VFW Post 9520, the Shriners, and Scottish Rite 32°. He worked for General Motors for over 26 years and was a member of the U.A.W. He was a lifelong member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church. Robert loved spending time with his family, enjoyed his animal friends, and tending his yard.

He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Carol (Doug) Levens of Creston, OH; sons, Robert (Jamie) Whitford Jr., of Medina, OH, and Brian (Vicki) Whitford of Brunswick, OH; grandsons, Douglas E. (Elizabeth) Levens of Cheshire, CT; Andy (Jen) Levens of New York, NY; Robert D. (Christine) Whitford III of Sullivan, OH; Donald (Ali Brooke) of Akron, OH; Jerret (Colleen) of AZ; and Nathan (Nicole) of Parma, OH; great-children, Peter, Eric, Robert D. Whitford IV, Katelynn, Kylie and Gabriel.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife; parents; and brother, Allen (Dolores).

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 6, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Brunswick United Methodist Church, 1395 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH. Family will receive visitors at church one hour prior 12:00-1:00 PM. (Please meet at the church.) Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick, OH.
