Ronald L. Dyett, 65, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Friday, December 17, 2010. He was born in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, a son of Leora (Burns) Dyett and the late Ronald W. Dyett.
He graduated from Champion High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army, being stationed in Germany and Vietnam. He retired from WCI Steel in Warren, Ohio ( formerly known as Republic Steel). After retirement he worked at the Garrettsville Hardware, which he truly loved. Ron was a Past Master of the Carroll F. Clapp Masonic Lodge #655 in Warren, Ohio. He lived and raised his family in Garrettsville, Ohio, until recently moving to Kent, Ohio to enjoy condo living.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue (Trocchio) of Kent; daughter, Alissa (Brian) Nichols of Stow; son, Chris of Columbus; brothers, Larry (Eileen), and Bob; and sister, Colleen. He will be greatly missed by many other family members, friends, and his faithful companion, “Abby,” but especially by his new granddaughter, Ava Estelle, a joy in his life.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010 from 3-7 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. Masonic Services will be held prior to visiting hours. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the funeral home, with V. Rev. Richard J. Pentello, VF officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Park Cemetery, Garrettsville, Ohio.
