Ruby Wheaton, 87, of Middlefield, formerly of Nelson, passed away at Geauga Hospital on Friday, January 21, 2011. She was born July 17, 1923 in Adrian, West Virginia to the late Benjamin and Nettie (Hunt) Hayes.
Ruby was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting quilting, crossword puzzles and playing cards with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Gary) Foy of Garrettsville and Sandra (Bob)Gallo of Peoria, Arizona; brothers, Hartzel Hayes, of West Virginia; sister, Wilma Harmon of West Virginia; grandchildren, Amy (Rob) Saffer, Samantha (Mark) Pochedly, Tina Gallo and Jenifer Foy; and great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Sydney. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde M. Wheaton; brothers, Ronald, “Tuc” and Lance; and sisters, Dora Westfall and Shirley Bosley.
Calling hours are 10:30 AM until noon on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231 where funeral services will be held at 12 noon with Pastor Rick Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville.
