RUSSELL W. FAIR

October 24, 1952 — January 14, 2022

Russell W. "Russ" Fair, 69, of Hiram, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Friday, January 14, 2022. He was born in Mantua on October 24, 1952, to Norris and Marilyn (nee Lange) Fair.

While his time on earth was cut far too short, Russ lived a very full life and certainly one to be proud of. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and water sports every chance he got. His love of traveling, zest for life and new experiences brought him around the world to explore many different countries and cultures. The times he loved most were those spent with family and friends, whether that be hosting a clambake, a bonfire, or a family fish fry at home. Russ was a one-of-a-kind husband, son, father, Papa, and friend. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Russ was truly a remarkable man and one that will leave a deep, heartfelt impact on the lives of those he loved. Russ was born with the mind of a true engineer. He drove some of the world's biggest machines and moved more earth than most of us have the opportunity to see. Russ moved all of our hearts, tenfold. He was an innovator and a teacher; Russ mastered most anything he touched. "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."

Russ will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Michelle "Mickey" (nee Matzek); mother, Marilyn Fair (nee Lange); children, Katie (Terrance) Hinton, Kevin (Jennifer) Fair, Kellie (James) Repasky, Brandon (Pam) Baynes, Shawn (Kim) Baynes, and Jeremy (Melissa) Baynes; grandchildren, Emma, Olivia, Chase, Grayson, Kennedy, Maverick, Presley, Aspen, Everett, Leighton, Kristin, Alyssa, Ryan, Madeleine, Rowan, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norris W. Fair, and step-father, Manley Robert Fair.
