Downs, 98, years old of The Woodlands, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011 following a long fulfilled life. She spent most of her life in Southington, but had resided in Garrettsville since 2005. She was born July 23, 1913 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frederick and Matilda (Treybal) Vancura. Ruth retired from Nymold Plastics and was a member of the Windham Church of Christ. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Arlyn (Orma) Downs of Southington, two grandchildren Shari (Mark) Shaffer and Shelly (Dan) Perry and two great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, in 1962, and brothers, Alfred and Leroy Vancura.
