Ruth Gay, 90, of Medina, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 with her loving family at her side. She was born on September 28, 1931, in Crestline, Ohio, to the late Starling and Maggie (Gearhart) Poth.
She was an avid reader, and loved sewing and crossword puzzles. Ruth graduated from Crestline High School in 1949 and worked as a legal secretary for over 20 years. She enjoyed flower gardening, candy making, entertaining, and especially being entertained by her grandson. Ruth was a member of various UCC churches in Ohio for many years and worked with Stephen Ministry, while living in Cary, North Carolina.
Ruth will be greatly missed by her loving sons, John and Brian (Diane); grandson, Nathan, and sisters Rosemary Zamora, Carol Gledhill, and Joyce Miller.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John, with whom she was blessed to share 61 years of marriage, her parents, and brother, Charles Poth.
Per Ruth's wishes, cremation has taken place. Ruth and John will be interred together at Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline, Ohio, on Novemeber 13, 2021, at 11:30 am. Arrangements for Ruth were entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd. (corner of River Styx and Rte 18), Medina, Ohio, 44256.
