Sam Giaimo, age 96, of Brunswick, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021. He was born on October 19, 1925, at Akron to Nickoli and Antonia (Casemento) Giaimo.
Sam loved the Lord who he served all his life, his wife Toni of 65 years, and all his kids and grandkids.
Sam worked for Wonder Bread/Hostess Cakes for over 40 years. In his spare time his hobbies included remodeling & carpentry, music & singing, playing the violin, golfing, umpiring, going to church, sewing and altering clothes.
He was a member of the US Navy during WW2 and proudly served on the USS Iowa, a battleship in the war at Pearl Harbor.
He will be missed by children, Sandy (Howard) Anderson, Nancy Giaimo, Marcia (Gary) Boetsch, Cheryl Decker, Mark (Deb) Giaimo; granchildren, Shannon (Drew) Auld, Adam Anderson, Jason (Katrina) Himebaugh, Kenton Himebaugh, Kari (Matt) Gurlinger, Michael (Janet) Boetsch, Megan (Dan) Scofield, Angela Decker, Ross Decker, Mia Giaimo, Noah Giaimo; great-grandchildren, Eli, Lucy, Aaron, Peter, Luke, Molly, Hudson, Beckett, and Gabriel.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Antonette Giaimo; brothers, Tony and Joseph Giaimo; and sisters, Mary Falor and Louise Buzzanco.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273. The Giaimo family has entrusted Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd. (Corner of River Styx and Route 18), Medina.
Donations will be graciously accepted by Cornerstone Chapel 3939 Granger Rd. Medina, OH, 44256, in memory of Sam.
