SHANNON R. YOUNG SR.

Shannon R. Young Sr., age 95, of Brunswick, OH passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. He was born February 11, 1928, in Webbville, KY, to the late Milton and Hermia Young.

Shannon retired from the Ford Motor Company after 38 years of service. He loved watching Cleveland sports teams and traveling. He took great pride in his family and loved them dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elva (Girting) Young; daughter, Barbara Fraelich; brothers, Vernor “Buster”, Sheridan, Minos, L.G. and Clinton.

Shannon is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Judy; sons, Shannon Jr. (Nancy) Young and Richard Young; daughter, Cindy Nolan; stepdaughter, Lisa Stann; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Lois (Jerry) Webb and Jewell Clark-Klumpp and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 28, 2023, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, located at 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile south of route 303), Brunswick, OH 44212 with funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. A burial will follow in Eastlawn Memory Gardens (Brunswick). In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
