SHEILA KAY DRAKE

Sheila K. Drake (Gibson), age 51, and Jacob H. Drake, age 18, of Medina, tragically passed away in a Medina residential gas explosion/fire. Jacob passed on February 9, 2017; Sheila passed on February 20, 2017, due to complications from her injuries.

Jacob was the boy with the contagious smile. Despite all his obstacles and pain, he was always happy. He was very outgoing, loved life, and was an absolute joy to be around. What a blessing Jacob was, and continues to be. He taught everyone he knew a lesson about life. Jacob loved his family, his dogs, video games, movies, fast cars, country music, and singing and dancing with his mother. Jacob was a son, brother, uncle and very special friend to many.

Sheila dearly loved her family and was a devoted, 24-hour mother, nurse, companion, and entertainer to her son, Jacob. Sheila will be remembered in everyone's heart as exactly who she was. She was the most loving, selfless person you could ever meet. She was always putting others needs before her own. She had a way with people, a smile that could make the worst day better, and a voice that soothed one’s soul. Sheila loved to sing, dance, play video games, spend time with family, and enjoyed her dogs. She was a devoted wife, mother, caretaker, grandmother (Grammy), and loving friend to all.

Sheila and Jacob are survived by their beloved husband/father, Robert; children/siblings, Greg (Brittany), Shannon, Darrin Gibson, Mark (Nichole), Josh Reindl, Amy (Travis) Priestley, and Michael (Kayla); and father/grandfather, Leonard Gibson.

They were preceded in death by their mother/grandmother, Norma Jean Gibson (Galliher).
Friends may join the family to celebrate Sheila and Jacob’s life on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 2 until 6 pm at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of Route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212.
