BRUNSWICK

Shirley A. Lemons, our precious mother, passed away surrounded by her cherished family on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. She has now been joyfully reunited with the love of her life, Ruben J. “Jerry” Lemons, after 58 beautiful years of marriage. Theirs was a love story for the ages, and their reunion in Heaven fills our hearts with peace.

She was born on August 3, 1938, in Pottsville, PA to her late parents, Albert and Angelina (nee Nothstein) Pasker.

In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley is reunited with her siblings; Isabel Svrcek, Mary Penkauski, Clyde “Bud” Renninger, Dale Pasker, Viola James, Joyce Nelson, Catherin and Betty; her daughter in law, Laura Lemons; and son in law, James “Jim” Botson.

She leaves behind her loved and cherished family; Children, their special son- David James Lemons, Jonathan (Marlene) Lemons, Regina (Joe) Frimel, Thomas (Lorna) Lemons and Susan (Jason) Dimos; grandchildren, Michael (Tiffany), Jennifer (Kevin), Amanda (Paul), Rachael (Bryan), Thomas (Breana), Melissa (Jonathan), Elizabeth (Michael), Nicole, Donny; great-grandchildren, Christian, Olivia, Matthew, Mckenna, Jack, Jericho, Clayton, Brooklyn, Brantley and Troy; her niece, Rose Tokonitz; and many more extended family and friends.

To her family, Shirley was not just a mother, but a guiding force of unconditional love and unwavering support. Her nurturing spirit and warm embrace earned her the title of "Best Mother Ever”. Her radiant smile brought great love to everyone she met, and her joyful spirit and energy allowed her to dance and entertain us at any given moment. She brought out the best in all of us with her laughter and she was truly our greatest gift from God.

Shirley's selflessness knew no bounds. With a heart as vast as the heavens, she dedicated her life to putting others before herself, embodying the very essence of an earthly angel with the strength of a warrior. Her love knew no limits, and her legacy of kindness will continue to ripple through eternity.

Deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, Shirley found solace and strength in her devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith was not merely a belief but a beacon of hope that guided her through life's trials and triumphs, inspiring all who knew her. She learned to be the most perfect mother by following the teaching of our Lord’s Virgin Mother Mary.

Shirley's journey began in Pottsville, PA, where she graduated from Pottsville High School. With a zest for life, she found joy in roller skating, baking bread, and expressing her creativity through cake decorating. After graduation, she ventured to Washington D.C., where she contributed her talents to the secretary pool, demonstrating her strong work ethic and dedication. After she proudly served her country in the Navy for a brief period because she had met the love of her life!

Her passion for being patriotic carried on throughout her life. Shirley remained deeply involved in community service as an active member of the Brunswick V.F.W., where she played an integral role in the Ladies’ Auxiliary. She loved supporting Jerry in the V.F.W. parades and events and relishing the community of friendships with all veterans and their spouses. Additionally, she supported her community at St. Ambrose Parish as an active member wife of the Knights of Columbus, embodying her commitment to service and fellowship.

In the tapestry of her life, Shirley found joy in the simplest of pleasures. Whether it was cooking, dancing, singing, nurturing her garden into bloom, or embarking on adventures with her beloved family. She embraced each moment with grace and gratitude.

She loved to entertain the family by having BBQs at the family pool, hiking outdoors and camping. But her favorite hobby was capturing family memories and gathering the gang together for family photos and turning them into treasured albums to look back on.

Shirley embraced the role of grandmother with unmatched warmth and devotion. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, filling her days with boundless joy and laughter. As she watched them grow and flourish, Shirley's heart swelled with pride, knowing that she had played a special role in shaping the remarkable individuals they would become. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, a testament to the profound impact she had on their lives.

Above all, Shirley was a devoted caregiver to her special needs son, David. Her boundless love and unwavering dedication were a testament to the depth of her compassion and the richness of her soul.

As we bid farewell to Shirley A. Lemons, our hearts are heavy with the weight of her absence, yet overflowing with the love and memories she leaves behind. Though she may have embarked on her journey to Heaven, her spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who were touched by her grace.
