Shirley E. Miller, 75, of Garrettsville, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Robinson Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 16, 1937 in East Liverpool, OH to Elmer and Ruth (Cain) Ralston.
Shirley was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1955. She was an Attendance Officer at James A. Garfield School for 25 years as well as a member of the JAG Athletic Boosters. Shirley thoroughly enjoyed being the girls track coach, prom advisor, junior class advisor, cheerleading advisor, and working with children. She was also a member of Garrettsville United Methodist Church, the Junior Women of Garrettsville, the Red Hats, and the 20th Century Club of Garrettsville. Shirley cherished spending time with her beloved family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband Tom, whom she married 50 years ago on November 24, 1961; loving sons Scott of Hiram and Steve of San Diego; sister Linda ( Ben ) Steagal of Colorado and Shirley Miller Puch of Wellsville; sister-in-law Carol Ralston of Colorado and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and brother Stanley B. Ralston of Colorado.
Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 5-7 P.M. with her Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St. Garrettsville, OH 44231.
