Solveig Snyder, age 91, of Brunswick,OH, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 7, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 7, 1930, to the late Ivar and Elna (nee Tornquist) Wennerstrom in Pargas, Finland.
She lived in Altamont, NY for 54 years before relocating to the Carolina Shores, NC. In April 2022, she moved to Brunswick, OH to be closer to family. Solveig loved her family and Jesus, serving as a volunteer at the King of Glory Lutheran Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC. She worked as a Registered Nurse before having her 3 children and for a time after they were grown. Solveig was an avid quilter and was never afraid to tackle a job to improve her home or someone else's. She loved to entertain guests, play indoor and outdoor games including mahjong, dominos, and card games.
Solveig will be deeply missed by her daughters, Carol (Andy) Adriance and Diane Disser; son-in-law, Christian (Linda) Manss; grandchildren, Johann (Beth) Manss, Grenn (Lynn) Manss, Michelle (Adam) Muretisch, Mark (Melanie) Adriance, Stina (Bill) Carter, and Stephanie Troy; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; her extended family in Finland; and many close friends.
In addition to her parents, Solveig was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Luther; daughter, Juanita Manss; brother, Eric Wennerstrom; and sister Stina Wennerstrom.
Per Solveig's wishes cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be held privately at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland, NY. The Snyder family has entrusted Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Brunswick with Solveig's care.
