STEPHEN ERIC DOWST

Stephen Eric Dowst, age 82, died on Friday, February 14, 2025, following an extended illness. He was born on November 29, 1942, in Manchester, New Hampshire, the son of Hildred Frances (Mertsch) and Wayne Dowst. 

After high school, Stephen served in the United States Army. He was a part of the Military Intelligence serving at 109th Counter Intelligence Headquarters. Following his three years of service, Stephen continued his education at the Baltimore University, earning a Masters in Business degree and began in IT Project Management. On June 9, 1979, he married Joan Marie Novotny. He was a dog lover to the end of his life, and he loved working in his vegetable garden.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Joan Dowst; his two daughters, Suzanne T. Dowst of Brunswick, Ohio, and Amanda V. Dowst of East Greenwich, Rhode Island; his grandson, Hunter Michael Posillo; and his brother, David W. (Brenda) Dowst of Albama. Private burial will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
