STEPHEN J SCHMELTER

Stephen J. Schmelter, age 64, of Brunswick, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 with his niece Annmarie Brasty beside him. He was born on June 10, 1950 in Bay Village, Ohio to the late Walter F. and Josephine (nee Kaczorowska) Schmelter.

Stephen was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the Brunswick VFW Post 9520. He was employed for 30 years at Brunswick City Schools. Stephen was an avid Browns football fan and loved to tinker around the house.

He will be dearly missed by his brother Ronald (Lori); nieces, Annmarie, Patty, Kathy, Paula; caregivers, Don and Sandy Brancheck and his special “K” Kailee. He also leaves behind his dog and companion Maggy.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Walter.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of Route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212. A Funeral Service will be at 8:00 PM with Rev. Joseph Skladany officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
