Steven Dillow, age 66, of Garrettsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, June 23, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving wife and family members. Steve was a dedicated ironworker, and belonged to the Iron Workers Local 17 of Cleveland. Steve worked as an ironworker for 30 years at Forest City Erectors, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. His contributions to many structures around the city stand as a testament to his skill and dedication.
Beyond his professional life, Steve had a deep passion for racing dogs at Coon Dog Field Trials. The field trial was a cherished family tradition he shared with his father, Charles, his brothers, Chet and Jamie and his son, Luke. He enjoyed not only the thrill of the races but also the joy of raising and training the dogs. A passionate dog racer, Steven leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family values and a love for the outdoors.
Steve loved his children and grandchildren and they will always remember the moments spent together. His presence will be deeply missed by many who knew and loved him.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Myrtle (Brock) Dillow, the mother of his children, Gina Palshook, and his brother, Chet Dillow.
Steve is survived by his wife Nannette of the home; son Lucas Dillow; daughters, Elizabeth Jenkins and Christine Bebout; step-daughter, Stephanie Young, step-son Aaron Osbourne; grandchildren, Evelyn, Lucas, Garrett, Cody, Keon, Ember, Ethan, Avery and Casey; sisters, Karen, Mona, Kim and a brother Jamie.
Steve’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his legacy of hard work and passion will not be forgotten.
There will be no calling hours or services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
